Our Holiday Home at Kodaikanal Our Union Holiday Home opened in 1975, under the visionary leadership of Com C S Subramanian, former General Secretary of CBEU.The holiday home has been a cherished retreat for our members over the years.The decision to e s t a b l i s h t h e holiday home was made in 1974 and with unwavering support from our m e m b e r s , i t became a reality in 1975. Due to passage of time and rough weather in the hilly terrain, the building was getting damaged.

The Holiday Home is now refurbished and the renovated Holiday Home with most modern amenities was inaugurated on 25th April 2024 by our beloved President, Com M S Srinivasan and General Secretary, Com K Srikrishna. The refurbished holiday home now features six rooms. There are two buildings in the spacious compound. In each building, there are three rooms, two double bed rooms in the ground floor and one four bed room in the first floor. In all the rooms, one extra bed is provided and a family of four (two adults and two children can stay comfortably in double bed situated in the serene was room). All the rooms are with attached modern bathrooms. TV and Wifi are also provided.

Comrades, it was not an easy task to complete the project within a time frame. Our thanks are to the functionaries of our Union, Com N Kalyanaraman, CC Member; Com R Karthik, Treasurer; Com V V Venkatesan, CC Member; Com S V i n o t h , C C Member, Com S R a m a k r i s h n a n , Treasurer, Tamil n a d u S t a t e Committee and C o m G S i v a kumar, Assistant S e c r e t a r y , Tamilnadu State Committee for their painstaking efforts, staying at Kodaikanal for days together supervising the work. The guidance and support of our former CC Member, Com Rajasekhar deserve special mention and appreciation. Com Suresh, Caretaker of Holiday Home of Canara Bank Employees’ Co-operative Thrift and Credit Society Ltd., Chennai was also of tremendous help transporting things from Chennai and other parts of the State. Comrades, the Holiday Home at Kodaikanal was inaugurated in 1975 by our great leader Com. CS. One is really wonderstruck as how he identified the property fifty years back when the transport and communication facilities were very less. It is our bounden duty to preserve the same in a good condition.
